CEO, AmASSI Centers for Wellness and Culture and Black Men's Xchange
Cleo Manago is the founder and CEO of the African American Advocacy, Support-Services and Survival Institute (AmASSI) Centers for Wellness and Culture; the AmASSI Group Consultant Firm; and national, health and human-rights- the Black Men’s Xchange (BMX). Cleo’s organizations have provided services to communities both domestic and abroad including Los Angeles and the Oakland/Bay Area in California, Atlanta, Baltimore/DC, Johannesburg (South Africa), Chicago, Detroit, Miami and Harlem in New York City.
As a behavioral health and cultural expert, Cleo has brought inventive contributions to the national discourse on Black community male and female mental and reproductive health, and communicable disease prevention. Most notably, he has developed promising methodologies for constructive behavior-change and research, wellness, HIV/AIDS prevention, and addressing cultural and historically relevant barriers to healthy self-concept and personal responsibility. Mr. Manago is a socio-political analyst, writer and popular spokesperson on the most controversial issues facing America today.
Cleo Manago is a former doctoral student at the California Institute for Integral Studies in San Francisco, and a community faculty member at Charles Drew University of Science and Medicine in South Central Los Angeles, a historically Black university.
