

Timothy Jones
Senior
English/Drama
Timothy Jones, choreographer, scholar, and artist is a native of New Haven, Connecticut and is a graduating senior at Morehouse College as a double major in English and Drama with a concentration in Dance studies and a minor in philosophy. Mr. Jones is a graduate of the Cooperative Arts and Humanities Magnet High School as well as Educational Center for the Arts in New Haven, Connecticut. Timothy has also been under the dance instruction of Christina Kershaw, Earl Mosley, Freddie Moore, Daryl Foster, and T. Lang. Mr. Jones has trained at The Ailey School, Center for Creative Youth at both Wesleyan University and in the Cape Verde Islands, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, NYU TISH's Summer Dance Residency, Atlanta Ballet, and Spelman College. Further, Mr. Jones' choreography and research has been presented at Spelman College, the Tony Award-Winning Alliance Theater, and at various venues around the world. Mr. Jones has also traveled extensively to a myriad of countries researching, performing, creating, and teaching dance and theater. Most recently, Mr. Jones completed a semester abroad in London, England at the British American Drama Academy, a critically acclaimed classical theater-training program in conjunction with faculty from Yale School of Drama and the Royal Academy of Drama.
Mr. Jones has also worked at the Ailey School and Ballet Hispanicio in their arts and education and artistic management departments. Currently, he is working as a choreographer and artistic intern with LIFT Dance; an Atlanta based all male production highlighting the diversity in the male experience through dance and photography. Additionally, as a former foster youth himself, Mr. Jones has become an advocate for foster and adoptive youth through mentorship and the performing arts. He also recently completed a broadcast media and production internship with Child Welfare offices in Washington, D.C and NBC4 with the foster and adoptive parent telecast “Wednesday’s Child.”
