Therence James Jr. is from Richmond, California. During his matriculation through Morehouse he has served his community as a member of Circle Kiwanis, an international service leadership program that focuses on neighborhood and park restoration, as well as global awareness. The activities included widespread cleanup and repairs if necessary on any of the service areas. He has also worked with Habitat for Humanity, a program dedicated to helping build homes for people in need. Therence spends his summers reconnecting with the Making Waves Education Program, tutoring middle school students from the inner city in English and Writing in preparation for their high school applications and personal statements. He is also an assistant trainer and coach for a summer league football program. His future aspirations include attending graduate school to further his education and starting community centers in underdeveloped neighborhoods, geared towards young men and women, helping to promote stability and instill the value of education, arts and athletics. Therence hopes that through the development of these centers.
